Screen Time: A Photography Series

This project stemmed from the word "suspense." When branching off of this word, I immediately thought of how writers build up suspense in a screenplay, (I went to Douglas Anderson for creative writing so it seemed fit.) I then created different characters consisting of Hollywood stars from the 50's who break through the fourth wall and interact with the audience. I wanted the audience to feel involved and as if these women are talking to them, each with their own personalities. Pairing a video of static screened on my television and a long exposure on my camera, I was able to capture this almost techno-glitch, making them appear as if they are coming out of the screen. The audience is intended to feel an eerie, haunting sense like the characters are trying to pull them inside the screen to their world of Hollywood.     2021
